Get ready to clear your summer schedules once again Big Brother Fans because CBS announced today that Big Brother has been renewed for two more seasons in the summers of 2017 and 2018!

Even though there was never any doubt Big Brother would get renewed, after all it is CBS's #1 performing summer show year after year, it's still exciting to know Big Brother will continue to be on our screens the next two summers.

The official CBS press release says, "The 19th and Milestone 20th Editions to be Broadcast in Summer 2017 and 2018." This has left many fans confused because, as we reported last week, Big Brother will be airing another season this fall on CBS All Access.

The Hollywood Reports says that CBS does not intend to call the upcoming season Big Brother 19. "Season 19 of Big Brother is not to be confused with the new digital edition of the series, which will premiere on CBS All Access in the fall. It's unclear how else the new digital edition, which will also be hosted by Julie Chen, will differentiate itself from the original series."

Details of this digital edition of Big Brother are unknown still, but not calling it Big Brother 19 is sure to confuse many fans.

Are you excited for the next 3 seasons of Big Brother?! Let us know in the comments!

From My P.O.V: BB18 Disappointment Continues (Week 7)

$

Last week, some of you may have noticed, there was no new ‘From My P.O.V’ column, and before diving into this week’s column, I want to touch on why that was. I think it may provide some help in understanding the tone of this week’s column, as well as my perspective on the season as a whole.

If you’ve read any of my columns thus far, you already know I am not impressed in the least with this season. I find the cast unprecedentedly unlikeable, I find that the gameplay is so devoid of strategy it's hard to watch and be interested in, and honestly if I wasn't a Big Brother Superfan and didn't consider this show such a huge part of my life, I would’ve turned off the television by now. I am surprised that the ratings are relatively in-tact and that all the casuals haven't fled already.

Now, all of that may lead you to believe that this column will be an angry one, that I will be telling you why I'm “PISSED” (Thanks, Paul) about the season. But I’ve done that already. Over and over. The way I am feeling towards BB18 now, and how I was feeling last week (leading to the lack of published column) is frankly, defeated. I am sad. I am desperate, literally desperate, to feel like I'm partaking in something worthwhile. People say BB9 was the worst, least exciting and engaging season ever - BB18 is trying really hard, IMO, to take that crown.

I am going to make a loose analogy here, before moving on, that I think embodies the season pretty well, “from my point of view”, if you will. In Big Brother, my favorite HGs have always been those who are strategists. I don't care if you're likable. It helps, but it's not necessary. Dr. Will wasn't really likable… he was only likable, because he wasn't, if that makes any sense. Sticking with that motif, I have always said the worst BB players are those who play with their emotions. AKA, targeting someone who could benefit your game simply because you find them irksome or annoying. Sometimes the annoying people are what's best for you in the BB house, because chances are they're annoying everyone, not just you. This season has made me feel, an avid BB Superfan, as if I have been devolved to an emotional Houseguest. Because there's such a soul-sucking-void of strategy, I am literally to the point where I am just rooting against people I don't like, which is so unlike me as a viewer that I actually genuinely feel gross about it.

There's been the birth of a little, tiny bit of strategy in this last week, but nothing outside of the status quo, and while I am feeling a little less beaten down today than I was last week, I still don't know that there's much to write home about. But, for you, I will anyway.

So, Victor is HoH after a grueling endurance HoH comp where we saw about the amount of crying and vomiting that one would expect from this season. Unsurprisingly Victor is targeting Michelle and Zakiyah, because… well… Michelle is a mean-spirited and annoying person and Zakiyah is a love-sick puppy who probably would stop breathing if Paulie asked her too. Yep, that's about it. That's the level of strategy going into these noms, basically. I wish I could say, even, that Z is the target because The Executives & The Board are concerned about Paulie’s showmantic ties, but that's not even the case. Essentially, Z and Meech are annoying outsiders and that's why they're nominated. And at this point, I am okay with that. Kind of because I don't have a choice, and kind of for my own sanity in reasoning at the level that these HGs are to actually understand this game.

Before getting into why I am basically okay with the Noms, aside from the fact that they are just par-for-the-course with the level of play of this season, I want to talk briefly about ‘The Executives’ and ‘The Board’ because I do think they are perhaps the only somewhat upside in an otherwise really downsided season.

To save myself from the obvious criticisms here, let me just say that for one I am not usually a fan of majority alliances. Two, I am certainly not typically a fan of bro-alliances. And three, as I have already stated, I am not a big fan of “the status-quo”. All that being said though, I don't advocate big moves for the sake of big moves, I advocate big moves as game defining, individually beneficial strategic moves. While The Executives and The Board may be the ones maintaining this monotonous, status-quo season, they are also the only ones playing the game on any level, as minute as it may be. For that I have to give them at least some credit.

The Executives, being Paulie, Paul, Victor, Corey, and James (and lead largely by the PP alliance) at least have an alliance. In a season dominated by showmances where it feels a lot more like we’re watching a dating show rather than watching Big Brother, at least these guys have gotten together and given themselves a name and established some general targets.

I know people are going to hate on this opinion, because everybody loves an underdog and nobody loves a dictator, but from a purely game-based-perspective, Paulie is the only HG in the entire game who deserves to win. He has a superficial showmance who is absolutely 100% willing to cut in a using-her-to-the-end Chilltown-esque way (BB7), he has secured multiple alliances who trust him unwaveringly, he's won essentially every competition he's tried to win, and he's inarguably controlling the house. He might be a womanizer, he might be completely arrogant, but he's also the only one who is even kind-of-sort-of playing the game this season and for that I actually am finding myself more and more endeared to him.

He's dragged these other 4 along with him kicking and screaming, but they're at least sort-of along for the ride too. James is too busy being floored that Natalie talks to him to care and Corey might still not know he's on a reality show, but at least they listen and talk game with him, and Paul and Victor are coming into their own in some ways too, understanding the nuances of the game by learning from Paulie, who actually gets it on some level.

Now I am not saying Paulie is Derrick. I know that's what Paulie wants me to say, but I won't. In a house full of so many sheep, no one is Derrick. No one is even all-star worthy because when you're surrounded by this many non-players, how can you deserve any credit at all for just being competent? But, all that said, like it or not, Paulie is your Will/Dan/Derrick/Vanessa of the season. He's at least playing, which is more than most can say, and at this point my eggs are in his basket for that reason alone.

I am going to rant for a second here about two people who are arguably playing the game the least, despite being on the block. Zakiyah and Michelle. Sorry for stating yet another unpopular opinion, but Z and Meech deserve to be on the block. And if you're convincing yourself otherwise, you're just being an underdog-supporter and aren't letting yourself see the forest through the trees.

To start with Z, she's not playing the game one ounce. She's only concerned with Paulie, and at this point it's disgusting and laughable. He's betrayed her time and time again, and despite her “I am on to him” edit on Sunday’s show, she's still all over him on the feeds. If there's anyone I feel that I hit the nail on the head with in my pre-season first impressions, it's probably Z. I said that she seemed like an empowered, intelligent young woman capable of winning the season, but that her outward desire to be in a showmance worried me and that I think if she ended up in one it would spell the end of her game. Not to toot my own horn, but look what has happened! I am in no way a clairvoyant of Big Brother, but I love the game and I call them like I see them and I knew that Z saying in her very first Jefferview that she would love to be in a showmance meant bad news for the outlook of her game. She has become completely dependent on her male counterpart and she has literally no game of her own. If/when she's spared on Thursday, it will only be because Paulie made it so. Its sad to see someone with such great potential fail so miserably, but frankly I don't blame anyone but Z herself. She got (sorry to use the word again, but its the best one I have) disgustingly attached to Paulie and now isn't even her own person. I would call her a puppet, but she isn't even that. More like a forgotten about rag-doll left under the bed.

Michelle is no better, she might even be worse. Michelle has expressed numerous concerns about being “the worst BB Superfan to ever be cast on the show”. Well, you're right Michelle. It may be the only thing you've ever been right about in your entire life. Not only is Michelle not a true Superfan by my estimation, as she said on the feeds recently she's only seen 7 seasons of the show (significantly less than half) she also has just NO understanding of the game at all whatsoever. Big Brother is a strategic game, and its a physical one, but perhaps more than anything else its a social game. The strategy is my favorite part, and the competitions definitely matter, but that's only maybe 25% of your life in the BB House. The remaining 75% of the time you’re sitting around with downtime, just socializing and shooting-the-breeze with your fellow HGs. Michelle has made herself so damningly unlikeable and has been such an unrelenting “mean girl” that she's 110% put herself in the position she is in. She’s rude, she's judgmental, she's catty, and pardon if this is too harsh, but I think she has a lot of internal turmoil she needs to talk to someone about. She's a jealousy-driven, fat shaming, “mean girl” whose every solitary move in the BB house has been marked by an extremely personal, non-game-related vendetta.

I know this all makes me seem awfully mean, and like I said at the very beginning of this article, I don't like being devolved to an “Emotional Gameplayer” myself, but this season has beat me down to my knees and forced me to be this way. Michelle literally epitomizes someone with a social game so bad it leads to their demise (which is honestly pretty difficult to do, some really unbelievably unlikeable people have won this game, so to be so bad that the house literally cant stand to have you around says a lot) and Z has no mind of her own, literally. It pains me that I am so disillusioned with this season and that my words are so harsh, but at this point, despite it being the boring ole status quo, Michelle and Z deserve to go home. One of them isn't playing the game at all and one of them is playing it terribly and I truly would like not to be subjected to it any longer.

So this this week is the Double Eviction. There may be another one this season, people are saying, I don't know. That's neither here nor there. The Double Eviction episode(s) are among my favorite every season as a BB Superfan - and I think that goes for most everybody. With this seasons disappointment, I am really hopeful the Double Eviction shakes things up, but I am admittedly having a difficult time getting really excited about it.

Really, whatever happens I am at peace with, which I think may be the definition of apathy. I dislike all of these HGs so much, I don't really care who stays and who goes, I just hope its entertaining. If the person who stays this week (Meech or Z) go on the double sending them home back to back, I would be fine with that because (despite its being a status-quo move) I cant stand either of them on a personal level anymore. If something monumental goes down like Paulie or Paul getting sent home, even though I expressed my approval for Paulie earlier, hey - at least a big move went down.

I do, though, see some opportunity for a turnaround for the season. Or at least the start of one. If PP decides to try to evict Victor, and he ends up staying by way of Veto or RT Ticket, or the same scenario with Nicole rather than Victor. If James and Natalie are blindsided and targeted. There's a glimmer of hope that by end of episode on Thursday, there will be some shake-up that will create some waves that might make this season watchable, yet. If any of those scenarios went down, it might light a fire under some bums to get to work and actually play the game, rather than disgrace it to millions of people who passionately love it.

To say I am cautiously optimistic would be too generous. To use the word I mentioned previously, apathetic is more apt. Maybe apathetic with the slightest trace of hope remaining. I don't know, its hard to discern through my immense sorrow and disappointment towards the season.

I guess I'm just hoping something… happens.

Until Next Week -

Let's Talk Big Brother: Week 7

Welcome to a new weekly column featuring the writers of The Big Brother Insider! Join writers; Kaitlyn, Taylor, and Ashley as well as TBBI owner, John every week for their thoughts on BB18!

1) If you were in the house this week, who would you evict? Michelle or Zakiyah?

John: Four weeks ago I said both of these girls were playing the best game...Now I look back and laugh at myself! They’ve both been playing the worst game. They do nothing! Don’t win comps, have no social game...I just can’t with them. Anyways, all that aside the decision on whom to evict would be easy for me - Zakiyah. She’s in a showmance flirtmance with Paulie. ALWAYS get rid of the showmances. It’s amazing to me that we have three of them and nobody is batting an eye!

Ashley: I think it would depend on my position in the house, who I was aligned with and which of the two girls would help my game the most by staying. From purely a viewers standpoint, I’d like to see Michelle go. She’s driving me insane both on the feeds and the show. I can’t handle the crying over every little thing and she is making no effort to get along with the other side of the house.

Taylor: BIG MEECH!!! My goodness I am sick of watching her cry. As bad of a judgement as it is, I expect superfans to play a better game than everyone else. Michelle has played a terrible game, and I would be happy to watch her leave. Plus, Z rarely bothers me. I wish she would get away from Paulie, and make a big move.

Kaitlin: If I was in the house, I’d evict Zakiyah. She’s an numbe for Paulie who is controlling the house. It’s time to dwindle those numbers down and take down that big alliance. Big Meech may be super annoying and gives all us superfans a bad name, but I would hope she starts to turn her game around IF she stays.

2) Who are you hoping has the round-trip ticket?

John: I had hoped that Da’Vonne had the round-trip last week, but as we know that didn’t work out. It’s hard for me to hope that one person has the round trip because I just can’t see any of the ones left going back in a “making a big move”. It would be interesting though to see whomever goes in the double eviction have the round-trip - they could potentially go back in a shake things up, but I’m not holding my breath on that one.

Ashley: Of course, I’m hoping “My Girl” Nicole has the round trip ticket and she’s still the person I’d like to see win this game. A part of me is also hoping for Victor, not because he’s a favorite of mine or anything, I just think the reactions we’d get from the other houseguests would be fabulous! Imagine one person being lucky enough to come back in the game twice!

Taylor: I would like to see James or Natalie have the round trip. I really like both of them. I think it would be awesome to watch Bridgette leave and come right back in though since she was a target for so long.

Kaitlin: I really wanted Da’Vonne to have the round trip ticket for pure entertainment reasons, but that was not the case last week. So I hope James has the round trip ticket, he’s the only one in the house I’m really rooting for this season.

3) Who do you think is in danger of going home during the Double Eviction tonight?

John: I think whomever survives the block tonight will be in danger - in addition to Bridgette. Both whomever is left and Bridgette are clearly the lowest on the totem pole in the house.

Ashley: After Michelle/Zakiyah I think whoever survives from that pair or Bridgette will be the next casualty. Last week I was thinking Victor but I do feel like he’s put himself in a better place with the guys now. I was hoping for something more exciting and a big move but I think the double eviction is going to be fairly predictable and not be used to take out a major threat, similar to last year with Steve holding the power. But hey, it worked out well for him right?

Taylor: I think Victor. He is too cocky for my taste, and his nomination speech could have rubbed people the wrong way. I think that Z or Michelle will be at risk as well.

Kaitlin: Double Evictions are always the best part of Big Brother! Most of the time, major drama occurs and you have no idea what happened, and someone you didn’t expect to be voted out is gone. If this season continues to be as predictable as it has been, it will probably will be Zakyiah or Big Meech, depending on how the eviction goes. Fingers crossed it’s someone unexpected!

4) Who do you want to see go home in the Double Eviction tonight?

John: In terms of who I HOPE will go home? Paulie. Hand’s down. But once again, I’m not holding my breath on that one happening...

Ashley: I’d love to see any of the board members go home just to shake things up a bit. I just don’t see anyone being willing to take that shot. Even if Michelle or Zakiyah ends up winning, I’m not sure they’d do it. I worry they’d just try to take out one of the girls for some silly personal reason.

Taylor: I would love to see Big Meech walk out the door first, followed by Victor. I’ve had enough of the crying and cockiness. I would like to see Nicole and Corey start making some big moves though, maybe they will put the PP duo on the block: Paul and Paulie. That would make for a great episode.

Kaitlin: I want Corey GONE. I think he’s bad for Nicole’s game, and she’s a better player than what she has been doing this season. He’s a distraction for her, and if he goes a fire will be lit under her butt and she’ll finally start playing this game.

From My P.O.V: PP - The Collapse & Conquest (Week 8)

$
0
0

This week, possibly more than any other week, to get the full picture of the happenings of the house we need to take a step back and look at the events that got us here. Looking at Paulie sitting on the block, crying and dancing with butterflies in the back yard, may be entertaining (or pitiful, depending on how you look at it) but it doesn't give us the full story. A lot has transpired since my last column just a week ago, and a lot of it has been talked about on the interwebs at length, so this week I am going to provide just my brief take on the action that was, and talk a little about the collapse of one ‘P’ and the conquest of the other.

I think something needs to be made abundantly clear. Did the Natalie and Paulie blow out leave Paulie looking foolish? Absolutely. Does Paulie look undeniably like a disrespectful chauvinist? You bet. But was this one blow out the cause of Paulie’s entire demise? Not a chance.

A lot of people think to seem Paulie’s quarrel with Natalie spelt the beginning of the end for his game, but from my perspective, it was rather the end of the end for his game. The beginning of the end of Paulie’s game began when he decided that out of pride alone he was going to win every competition he could get his hands on. This isn't genius Big Brother insight, and I don't claim it to be. Its more like Big Brother 101. Its been seen more times than I will bother listing - the competition beasts paint a target on their own backs. Now its fair to say that Paulie was in the majority, and he was winning those competitions for the people he thought were going to be his game-long allies and would be heralded as a hero among them. That was his mindset, and its logical when taken in context. Still, though, Paulie came into this game with returnee upside. He had the benefits of conversations with Derrick, Cody, and who knows who else, and I promise you they told him to limit his competition wins - but that order was one that Paulie simply was too proud to fill. It was all well and good with everyone while he was protecting them, but its only ever a matter of time before people become intimidated with such competition prowess. That was mistake number one.

Mistake number two was possibly more flagrant and definitely more damning as time went on, and we saw it reach a fever pitch in Paulie and Paul’s relationship. Heres some more Big Brother 101 (Maybe 102, I guess its a little more advanced) - When you're in an alliance with someone, even if you're totally misting them and using them to your advantage and on a personal level its completely disingenuous, they need to feel like you are doing whats best for their game as much as (if not more) than whats best for your game. In any alliance, your Beta, or your partner, or your team, or however you want to put it - they want to feel like you're progressing their game and that you are doing whats best for them in the end. It boils down to plain ole’ human nature, really. We all want whats best for ourselves, and if it benefits our BFFs in the process then thats great, but at the end of the day its all about the person looking back at you in the mirror. Paulie became so negligent of this manipulation tactic of leading alliance members to believe what was best for him was also what was best for them that he wasn't even trying to convince them of it anymore, he was just dictating to them what their next move had to be and why. The perfect (and recent) example of this is the aforementioned disagreement between Paulie and Paul. Paul had finally recognized that Paulie had been getting his way for weeks, and that keeping Z was a move that most certainly benefitted no one but Paulie, so it was reasonably time for Paulie to give a little back in the alliance and allow Z to be targeted over Michelle. Paulie, though, couldn't let this be. Despite the fact that Z was really no benefit to his game whatsoever other than having two votes on eviction night, essentially, Paulie needed to be in the control position in the alliance. To anyone with a lick of a social science background, it was beyond obvious to see. In the end it wasn't about his relationship with Z, or what was best for his game, it was about remaining in the control position. And that, marked the essential downfall of his game. The rest of the alliance carried out the plan without him, and he is no left on the outs, sitting on the block.

Relationships, in life, are filled with give and take. Sometimes you’ll get your back scratched, but you need to be ready to do some back scratching in return in the near future. Paulie wasn't willing to make that compromise, and that's whats put him where he is now. Paulie wasted all of his good will and political capital on a failed move to assert his dominance, and now - barring the possession of the RT ticket - it’ll spell the end for him.

In all, my point is this, Paulie’s feud with Natalie may have shown his true personal colors in a lot of ways, but it wasn't what spelled the end of his game. That, coupled with his pre-live-show blow out with James, may have put the final nail in the coffin, but Paulie’s game was taking a turn for the worst long before those events transpired.

Ironically, in a sense, the person who is playing the most magnificent game at the moment is the person who in many ways is least like Paulie - his former PP brother-in-arms, Paul. I tweeted this sentiment on Sunday, and i’ll say it again here for good measure, Paul confounds me. I have never, in my entire BB Fandom, been more conflicted and up and down over a single player. At first, I hated his loud mouth attitude and superiority complex. Then, I liked him. I found him entertaining, cheeky, fun, and he seemed to be picking up on the nuances of the game. Then, I hated him again. I couldn't stand his “OHs” and his “PISSEDs” and his “FRIENDSHIPs”. Like, really. I couldn't stand it. It was getting to the point where I was feeling real world anger every time they would show him yelling one of his stupid catch phrases. NOW, I respect him more than any other player in the house in terms of the game he is playing.

In the same sense that I said Paulie has all the perks of a returnee via coaching and inside information, Paul is the total opposite. Paul is a recruit who openly admits to having never seen a season of the show, and only watching a few episodes of BB16 in sequester before getting bored and deciding he didn't want to watch it anymore. All that being the case, Paul has still masterfully picked up on the nuances of the game and has proved amazingly adaptable. Do I still think his personal quirks are grinding? Absolutely. I wish he would drop all of that and just focus on what a great gamer he's turning out to be - but if he can keep up the level of strategic acumen he's displaying, ill be happy to tolerate all of his other nonsense.

I want to stress something I said in the last paragraph, what impresses me most about Paul in this game is his adaptability. I have always said, if I ever play the game of Big Brother, my only strategy is to be adaptable. Some people say thats a cop out, and that saying your strategy is to be adaptable is just a way of saying you don't have a strategy - and let me be the first to tell you, you're wrong. Nothing ever happens the same way twice in the Big Brother house, that much is a fact. That being the case, when people go in with their mind made up on the game their going to play, they often get tunnel vision for that strategy and fail to see what other opportunities are opening up before them. Standard example - Either girls, or guys, wanting to make an all-girls and/or all-guys alliance. It might work out, but when it inevitably doesnt, theres always that one guy or girl so dead set on making their plan work that instead of being adaptable they fight like hell to save their failed strategy and find themselves evicted in week 3 because of it. When you embrace the idea that the Big Brother house is a wild and chaotic place where you need to be ready to uproot and reseed your entire strategy at a moments notice, that is when you will succeed.

And that, my friends, is exactly what Paul is doing. He has shifted his strategy and alliances with and away from the power with amazing awareness, he's shown incredible interpersonal and social skills, and he's displaying an upper tier understanding of the games strategic nuances of the game on a level that not one of the four returnees were displaying this season, let alone any of these other sheeps. It may have taken him a minute to get there, but Paul is turning into a game player, yet. I think his story arch as a strategist and as a player is frankly undeniably impressive, despite my personal feelings on his beyond-annoying quirks.

In all, barring a miracle or a round trip ticket pull, I think we’ll see Paulie heading out the door on Thursday. And from the ashes of the PP alliance rises a phoenix of the game in Paul. With his ups and downs, its almost guaranteed that next week’s article with be riddled with my scathing annoyance-induced hatred of Paul, but for now, this is his moment and he is playing the strategic game we all hope to see out of a season of Big Brother.

Honestly, I think its too late for this season to be wholly salvaged. It will go down in BB history as one of the least entertaining, least strategic, most disappointing seasons in the show’s long run. That, though, doesn't mean we cant pull for an average last 30-something days, which is essentially all I am expecting at this point. If in the last month we can at least see some average-level game play and a continued learn-as-we-progress strategic uptick from some of the HGs, i’ll accept that as a relative victory.

Heres hoping.

Big Brother 18's Special Friday Episode Details

On Monday, the Big Brother Live Feeds went down for a special backyard event for the houseguests. Through watching the feeds, we were able to learn that the houseguests attended a backyard county fair and concert.

The concert featured singer Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley's son. Also the houseguests got to enjoy food (even the have-nots) and games with prizes during the event.

It was speculated this was just a luxury comp for the houseguests, or a fun event for reaching the final eight. However, it was confirmed today by CBS that this backyard event would be Friday's episode.

The press release said, "BIG BROTHER is throwing the ultimate summer bash with a county fair themed special episode, Friday, August 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Houseguests will have the opportunity to compete for prizes, perks and power, and seven-time Grammy-winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley stops by to surprise the houseguests with a performance of his single “Weekend’s Long,” from his new self-titled sixth studio album."

In addition, Mr. Pec-Tacular himself announced that he would also be making an appearance at the "BB County Fair".

I have a hard time seeing how they're going to fill an entire house with just this county fair, but this appears to be the main reason for Friday's episode. It is speculated that this was meant to be a jury buyback competition show and that Paulie must have the round-trip ticket to return, so they needed something to fill the episode. Obviously we can't confirm this until Thursday night, but it's definitely an interesting theory.

In addition, if Paulie does get evicted, and doesn't have the round-trip ticket it will be interesting for them to have an out of sequence episode and have to explain that it was taped before his eviction.

Let's Talk Big Brother: Week 8

Welcome to a new weekly column featuring the writers of The Big Brother Insider! Join writers; Kaitlyn, Taylor, and Ashley as well as TBBI owner, John every week for their thoughts on BB18!

We’re changing up this week's “Let’s Talk Big Brother” article. Instead of having our writers answer questions, we’re going to have them give their opinion on the remaining houseguests. With it being week 8 in the house, only 8 houseguests left, and 8 houseguests already been evicted it just seemed like a GrEIGHT time to do it ;)

In no particular order, let’s get started:

1- Paulie
John: Where to start with Paulie? Initially, I liked the guy. He seemed nice, eager to play the game, and (physically) would be great at challenges. He proved me correct on the latter, however I was dead wrong by assuming he seemed nice. His comments in the house quickly left a bad taste in my mouth. For awhile I was low-key rooting for him, now I won’t be sad to see him go tonight - only thing I will miss is the drama he has brought this week.

Ashley: After Paulie’s antics this week, I’m completely over this guy. I honestly can’t believe I ever liked him! He’s definitely no Cody. He had such potential earlier in this game. What a disappointment.

Taylor: Up until this week, I thought Paulie was the only person who deserved to win this game. I think he could’ve went all the way to the end this season. Now I’m really just disappointed in him.

Kaitlin: At first, I loved Paulie. I never liked Cody and he seemed so different compared to him but this week he really has shown his true colors. From his rudeness to his bad sportsmanship it has been hard to root for him.  In this game, you can’t be cocky. Ultimately, that was Paulie’s downfall in this game.

2) Victor
John: Wasn’t a fan of Victor when he got evicted, he wasn’t one of the pre-jury members I wanted to come back in the house, but oddly...I kinda like him now. We’ve had the Victor show the last two weeks and it has been pretty great. He’s actually making big moves this week to advance his game, so I give him props for that. However, I still do not want to see him win because I don’t like the idea of people that have already been evicted coming back and winning. But for right now, he’s making the game entertaining so he can stay for awhile.

Ashley: Victor is okay. Not my favorite but I don’t hate him. Surprisingly, I ended up rooting for him in the Battle Back once Glenn was out. I definitely did not want to see the other 3 return. A part of me wonders if Victor could end up being the first evictee to win Big Brother. With his comp wins, he could be onto something!

Taylor: Eh… not a fan. I hope he gets eliminated soon. He’s great at competitions, and he’s funny… but his cockiness is too much for me.

Kaitlin: I’m not a huge fan of Victor, but he’s growing on me. Possibly because I respect him a lot as a player. It’s very unusual to see a someone voted out and come back in and end up doing very well. And I applaud him for that. He reminds me a lot of Hayden, the winner of BB12. Loud in the Diary Room, good at competitions, and not afraid to make the moves he needs. If the houseguests do not watch out Victor could win this game.

3) Michelle
John: This girl is one of the most emotional players I’ve seen in awhile. Originally I was rooting for her because she’s “one of us” (feedster)but I just can’t anymore. Her game is a mess, she doesn’t seem to have a strategy - not even the default “floater” strategy. I am however loving her for assisting in the demise of Paulie, however she still has a long way to go before I go back to rooting for big Meech.

Ashley: Big Meech is easily my least favorite player remaining in the game. And considering how Paulie has been acting lately, that’s saying a lot. I can’t stand the crying and if there’s one thing that really bugs me, it’s claiming to be a Superfan when you’re really not. She recently said on the feeds she’s only seen like 6 or 7 seasons. A true Superfan would’ve gone back and watched the others!

Taylor: Oh Meech. She was my pick for winner. If you watched her first interview, she seemed so smart, and such a fan of the game, that it was easy to assume she would be good at it. The crying is awful, she has no game play, and I would have much rather seen her walk out the door on double eviction night, instead of Bridgette.

Kaitlin: For the longest time, I’ve disliked her. Her comments have rubbed me the wrong way since the beginning. She gives Superfans a bad name. Look I don’t care if you haven’t seen every episode of Big Brother, but if you claim to be a Superfan, you need to act like one. PLAY THE GAME!! When it comes to being an emotional player, she is 20 billion times worse than Vanessa. At least Vanessa had some sort of strategy, Meech does not. The one thing I’ll give her credit for is that her sass and shade towards Paulie is very entertaining.

4) Corey
John: Who? I forgot this guy was even in the house until he won HOH and POV in the double eviction last week. He has zero game. Him winning those competitions I believe was sure luck. He reminds me of BB16’s Victoria - he’s just kinda there. I just hope he goes soon cause I don’t want him anywhere near the final 3.

Ashley: When I think of Corey, I think of the theme song to the Disney Channel show “Corey in the house” because that’s really all he is, he’s in the house. He’s not really doing anything and I’m still not sure he really knows what he’s doing BUT he’s a number for Nicole so he can stay. I honestly don’t mind the guy as much as the rest of the internet community.

Taylor: I don’t mind Corey at all. I think his social game is good, and clearly he can win competitions. He may not do much, or cause any crazy things in the house, but I think he’s a level headed player.

Kaitlin: I literally can not stand this guy. He has no personality at all and I do not know what Nicole sees in him. Boy is not even that cute. Corey, he’s just there and he’ll probably float to the Final 3.

5) Nicole
John: I didn’t mind Nicole during BB16, she was a likeable girl playing a “okay” game, so I expected to feel the same way about her this season….I was sadly mistaken. Nicole has been a huge disappointment this season. Instead of playing a better game this time around, she is repeating her BB16 game, nearly to a tee. Not winning any comps, no great social game, and having a showmance. I really wish I could root for her, but I can’t root for someone who is just there for a showmance.

Ashley: I will always always ALWAYS be Team Nicole! I don’t care if she isn’t playing the greatest game, I still think she has a shot at this thing! I would love to see her win this or at the very least be the last Veteran standing. I think it’s been fun to watch her play and get mad over every little “freakin’” thing!

Taylor: I love Nicole. She’s so quirky and cute… but not too much of a fan of her anymore. In BB16 I rooted for her, and I liked her showmance with Hayden. But, c’mon. The same game play for both seasons? Including showmances? Not cool.

Kaitlin: I loved Nicole in BB16, I thought she was so likeable and quirky. But this season, I don’t know what it is. Maybe she’s hanging out with Corey too much because his blandness is rubbing off on her. She’s just floating through this season and EVEN America is helping her float even more with this Super Safety care package. It’s really disappointing to see one of your favorite players just be in the house and not really play.

6) Natalie
John: Right now, I am rooting for Natalie. It’s weird that I find myself rooting for her because she hasn’t won any comps, but she is playing a pretty good social game. She also seems to be the only person in there with the drive to stir things up and flip the game for herself. I just really hope she gets some power soon before she becomes the target. Also, I absolutely LOVE her and James together, and I hardly ever root for a showmance to make it work outside the house - but I hope they do.

Ashley: Natalie is the savior of this season. She seems like such a nice person and is a breath of fresh air in that house. So many people thought she was going to be the Victoria in the house but the girl has got some game! I would love to see her win!

Taylor: I LOVE NATALIE. Natalie and James are the sweetest showmance. She genuinely gets excited about things in the house which I love. She’s adorable, and even though she hasn’t won any competitions, I wouldn’t be mad if she won.

Kaitlin: With my first impression of Natalie, I did not like this girl. I thought she was going to be like a Victoria from BB16 or there solely for a showmance. I was wrong about her, sure she has something with James but she’s playing an excellent social game. I underestimated her. Sure she has not won any competitions but she went from a target to flying under the radar. I don’t see her winning, but she has a good shot to win America’s Favorite.

7) James
John: James, another disappointment this season. This guy was funny and brought entertainment to BB17, but was just there for a summer vacation. So when I heard he was returning, I had hoped he would come back with a drive to actually play the game. I was wrong, he’s still just in there to have a good time. His social game is as good as ever, and he is finally stepping up and participating in making big moves these past two weeks. I’d like to see him get power and finally start playing the game.

Ashley: James is still James. Not much has changed. He’s still the same guy as last year but he found a girl to return his love this time around. I think he will go far. No one really seems to be bothered that he is there and he’s still getting along with pretty much everyone.

Taylor: I will forever be a fan of James. I think he’s so kind, and genuine. He’s so funny, and it’s hard not to love James. I think he’s playing so much better this season. I would love to see James win it all.

Kaitlin: I love James, he’s my favorite, so I may be a little biased towards him. Sure he isn’t making big power moves like Paulie before or Victor currently. But I think his little moves count. He’s liked by everyone in the house, his social game is great, and he’s made little moves with voting, like voting out Zakiyah. Let’s not forget he did get Frank out of the house. Hopefully he starts to step it up and win some competitions, I’d like to see what he would do if he wins HOH.

8) Paul
John: I think Matthew said it best in his “From My P.O.V” column this week, he said, “Paul confounds me. NOW, I respect him more than any other player in the house in terms of the game he is playing.” I couldn’t agree more Matthew!

Ashley: At this point, how could anyone not like Paul? I thought I was going to hate the guy based on the first two episodes but he’s now someone I’m rooting for! If he leaves soon, I’ll definitely be “PISSED!” The guy has really come along way and truly seems to understand this game more than most first time players. I love that he took the first shot at Paulie.

Taylor: During week one I wanted Paul out first, and now I think BB18 would be horrible without him. He’s so comedic, and a GREAT player. I really think Paul deserves to win this game.

Kaitlin: At first he was too much, then he toned it down, then he got loud again, then he started picking up on how the game works, then he started with the catchphrases, the catchphrases caught on and now all I know is that I love him. I don’t understand how all this happened, but there is FRIENDSHIP with Paul. He’s my boy. Maybe all the repetition sunk into my head and I was coaxed into liking him, but I don’t mind. I think he’s funny and playing the game superwell. I’m really impressed by Paul. And I’m also really impressed with how he looks without his beard, just saying. Paul could really win this game, and if he doesn’t I think we all may be PISSED.
